Acclaimed Hollywood actor/director Clint Eastwood is facing legal separation after a petition was filed by his wife Dina Eastwood in California on Monday, September 9. The petition was filed by the lawyer of 48-year-old Dina Eastwood, a former TV journalist, in Monterey County Superior Court in Northern California.

Dina Eastwood’s lawyer did not comment as to the reason why she filed a petition for legal separation. Additionally, there was no mention of future divorce petitions being filed either. Clint Eastwood likewise did not comment on the subject.

Clint and Dina Eastwood have been married for 17 years since 1996.

Although New Jersey does not recognize legal separation, couples seeking to dissolve their marriage can do so.
