United Airlines Flight 897 bound to Beijing was ordered to reroute back to its departure airport after the authorities learned that a mother who was attempting to take his child out of the country without the father’s approval was on board. The mother, whose name was withheld, was pulled off the plane and arrested. She is facing charges of kidnapping and is scheduled to appear in court Friday, September 5.
